The opening of the 5,450m high Gondogoro La adds a new dimension to the magnificent K2 Trek, making it possible to return via the beautiful Hushe Valley. Given a little luck with weather the view from the Gondogoro La Pass is just incomparable, anywhere in the world. This is the premier spot on Earth for incredible views of K2 (8,611m) the second highest peak in the world, and world’s most beautiful high pyramid, Broad Peak (8,048m), Gasherbrums I to 6, Golden Throne (7,240m), Chogolisa (7,665m), and the entire upper Baltoro Massif.
This trek requires a good degree of physical fitness, as the variable weather conditions make pass crossing quite challenging. We may opt to begin at Askole and head to Concordia. This allows the best views of the major Baltoro Peaks while we are en route. This route also minimizes the chance of adverse snow conditions and unkind weather situations. This trek requires crampons and ice axe and some degree of experience.
