Mt. Everest, the highest mountain on Earth called appropriately in Nepali Sagarmatha ‘Sky Mother’ and Chomolungma in Tibetan straddles the border of these two nations. First official measurement was conducted in 1856 during the Great Trigonometric survey of British. Known then as peak XV was certified at 8840m. With a simple technology and the distance from the mountain, the height was determined with really phenomenal accuracy and only 8m off from current value of 8848m. The name Everest was chosen to honor British Surveyor General of Sir George Everest. Tibet and Nepal were closed to foreigners, so it is reasonable to assume that local names of the mountain were unknown. It was lucky that the tallest mountain was not named after an unaccomplished politician or a royal.

Everest is a climbing pinnacle to everyone from accomplished climber to an inexperienced but wealthy tourist being taken to the summit for a substantial fee by a professional mountain guide with a team of climbing Sherpa guides. The climbing royalty fee of U$25,000 forms a substantial source of tourist revenue for the government of Nepal, for whom Himalayas are a substantial natural resource due to lack of any substantial mineral resources. There are two commercial routes on Everest, south route via Southeast Ridge from Nepal and via North Ridge from Tibet.

The Chinese royalty is lower then Nepalese but the climb from Nepal via Khumbu icefall is extremely spectacular and sheltered from winds up to camp 4 at South Col making climbing much easier and much more pleasant. It is along Western Cwm (it is Welsh word pronounced ‘coom’; it means cirque or bowl shaped valley) well sheltered from winds and very hot on sunny windless day, called also a Valley of Silence.

Our Trekking service covers you from Kathmandu airport, where we will pick you up from your flight, to the Everest Base-camp with Kathmandu hotel package, flight to Lukla, food, accommodation and porter service on the trek.

Our in-Base-camp service will give you access to all our Base-camp services and facilities including 3 meals a day, unlimited hot and cold drinks available in the mess tent 24 hours a day, hot water for drinking and personal hygiene and the access to our communication equipment.

Our High Camp Climbing support service is provided by highly skilled & experienced Sherpa Climbing Guides. Our guides have multiple Everest summits under their belts and undergo continuous after season training and practice their trade working with international climbers on various climbing assignments in Nepal and Tibet.

Everest is a serious undertaking and a climb with serious consequences should things go wrong so, one of the major things we focus on while operating Mt. Everest Expedition is prevention.

Everest Expedition 2015 Spring - Camp 1 - 4 information

Camp 1: 20000ft. (6,400m)

This camp 1 is situated at the flat area of endless snow deep crevasses and mountain walls. Because of the Sun’s reflection from this place we get warm and heating ambience at this place. In the night we listen the deep murmuring cracking sounds of crevasses beneath our tent. These are the areas where we have to walk to reach camp 2.

Camp 2: 21000ft. (6,750m)

This camp 2 is situated at the height of the 21000ft, which is located at the foot of the icy mount Lhotse wall though where we have to go ahead. Weather is here is good but bad clouds roll in from the low range of the Himalayan valleys to the bottom of our camp two. But wind here some times seems very violent enough to destroy our tents. After climbing these palaces we reach camp 3.

Camp 3: 22300ft. (7,100m) Camp 3 is located at the height of 22300ft, adjoining to mount Lhotse wall. After climbing the 4000ft. Lhotse wall by using fixed rope and with prior acclimatization it leads us to camp 4. Also on the way we have to ascend the steep allow bands (lose, down -slopping and rotten limestone). From their crossing short snowfield the route moves ahead up the Geneva Spur to the east before finishing the flats of the south col. (Another wells name meaning Saddle of pass) . Oxygen should probably be use above base camp 3 incase of needed to the climbers.

Camp 4: 26000ft. (8,400m)

Now we are on camp 4 which located at the height of 26000ft; it is the last camp of the Expedition. From here summit is about 500m, distance far. This is the final and dangerous part of the climbing. This place is besieged by ferocious and violent winds. The normal best way to reach the summit is via the narrow South - East Ridge and it precedes the South Summits 28710ft. From here the way is easy to reach at the summit of the Everest 29035ft; and late Sir Edmond Hillary and l Tenzing Norge Sherpa used this route in 1953.
