Carstensz Pyramid - 14 days
Located in Irian Jaya, Indonesia, Carstensz Pyramid is the highest peak in Oceania including Australia. Considered one of the two options for completling the Seven Summits, Carstenz involves a class 5 rock climb and jumaring. Weather is often rainy, so don’t plan on escaping a wet experience. The summit will take you to 16,023 foot/4,884 meters and to stunning views of mountains, jungle and ocean. Access is relatively difficult for this remote climb, so extra patience and flexibility will come in handy. Please note that climbing permits on Carstensz Pyramid are subject to change at any time. This can result in the cancelling of an expedition and climbers may incur a full loss of payment. Permit situations and control thereof can change quickly. International Sherpa Guides/ISG will only operate fully legal, permitted expeditions and given our successful history in the mountains, we firmly believe that our chance of success is excellent. Please contact our offices with any further questions. Schedules are subject to change. This may mean change of internal flights, and using jeeps instead of helicopters for portions of the trip as well as additional trekking.
