Mt. Pumori - 30 Days days
Northeast Nepal is home to the legendary Sherpas. Just west of Mt Everest stands Pumori, its smooth and rounded top split by the border of Nepal and Tibet. Pumori is technically challenging and calls for seasoned climbers in great physical condition. This summit is a rewarding challenge, yielding great views of Everest, Lhotse and the surrounding high Himalaya.
Beginning in Lukla, we follow the same route as those en route to Mt Everest. The ascent to the summit will be on the vast south-east slope then connect with the north-east ridge. This route requires the least technical work, but passes through an avalanche prone area and a section exposed to seracfall. The Base Camp is at 3,500m and advanced camp is at 5,900m.
