Gosaikunda - Helambu - 12 Days days
This journey gives the best variety of climates in this area as well as a cultural experience at a sacred lake. The Valley of Langtang is protected as the Langtang National Park. The contrasting climates and terrain make for wonderful sightings of flora and fauna. The trail begins in a tropical forest and by evening leads you to the middle of a freezing alpine landscape. Gosaikunda is the sacred lake where Hindu pilgrims come to worship the numerous shrines of Lord Shiva in the area. The language, culture and dress of the Helambu Sherpas are very different from the Solu Khumbu Sherpas. Accessibility, has created an influx of tourist, making Helambu a popular tourist destination. Great views of Langtang Lirung (7,245m), Ganesh Himal (7,146m) and Dorje Lhakpa (6,990m) peaks make up the beautiful views that reward trekkers along this route.
