Round Dhaulagiri - 22 days

Grade:
Duration: 22 days
Rating: Popular
Destination: Nepal
Season:

The name of the seventh highest peak in the world means “white mountain” and is called Dhaulagiri. This is a remote and challenging trek for the more adventurous trekker. The mountain stands alone, rising as a giant shoulder of ice and snow, which explains the name. Dhaulagiri is rarely visited and the valleys and villages surrounding it are unspoiled and unchanged. Our trek takes us across the Kali Gandaki river and then north into the heart of the Dhaulagiri massif. French Pass (5,360m) is the high point of the trek and is reached from base camp, before the traverse of the hidden Valley and Dhampus Pass (5,182m). This high, level route brings us back to the upper Kali Gandaki Valley in Jomsom. From here, we either fly back to Kathmandu via Pokhara or we can continue from Jomsom till Birethanti and then to Pokhara.

Local experience with international exposure

We realize that you have many choices when selecting a guiding company and we believe we have the perfect combination of local and international experience to give you the best adventure. While most US companies are reliable and insured as US regulations require, they are often very expensive and lack the local knowledge of Asian companies. Asian companies have a more affordable price and offer the benefits of a local experience, yet reliability and standards are often lacking. We are the best of both. We are licensed in the US and hold ourselves to the highest standards in quality and expectations, and we also run all our own tours locally, with our own Sherpa guides and support staff.
